I must just warn you, if you’ve come here to hear heartwarming stories of overcoming and growth, I’m afraid you are going to be disappointed.
Sure, there victories, small ones, but there are no miracles, quick fixes or laughing about it later. Having a child with challenges of ANY kind (from SPD all the way up the spectrum) is heart wrenching, mind shifting and soul stretching on a completely different level.
For those of you who have been walking this road a long time, feel free to chip in and become part of the conversation, we all need advice and support through this. If you’re a new SPD parent, hang in there, it will all start making sense soon, it may not improve soon, but you’ll understand it soon.
I never know if I’m being too blunt, but, unfortunately (or fortunately) that is how I’m wired. Truth, facts and nothing is off limits.
So follow along, comment and share with me as I share my journey through parenting with Sensory Processing Disorder.
X Kim.
